About the project
Kocakaya Design is a designer who creates premium vector graphics and illustrations. Sales run through platforms like Etsy and Shutterstock; the site’s job isn’t to sell, but to show the work at the quality it deserves and send visitors on to the sales channels.
Starting point
On marketplaces, an artist’s work appears among thousands of other products, inside the platform’s own interface. Their own site is the only place they can present their portfolio in their own voice. The question here was: how do we show the work differently from a marketplace storefront?
Our approach
- We built a curated selection. Rather than listing every piece, we adopted a “Selected Works” approach; the strongest pieces were brought forward, not the entire portfolio.
- We made the artist visible. What marketplaces lack is identity; a short, first-person introduction put the person behind the work in front.
- We built a clear bridge to the sales channels. Instead of setting up a separate store, we used a prominent action that leads to the existing sales platforms; visitors never have to search for where to go.
- We built it in two languages. English for international buyers, Turkish for local visitors; the content structure is single, with a separate language layer.
The result
The result is a bilingual portfolio site that presents the work in a calm frame and takes visitors to the sales channels by the shortest route.
