In Brief — What Is UI/UX Design?

UX (user experience) design is the discipline concerned with “how a product works”, covering user research, information architecture, flow design and usability testing. UI (user interface) design is the layer that gives that structure its visual identity, shaping color, typography, animation and component style.

A professional UI/UX design process moves through persona definition, wireframes and prototypes, then builds a component library and design token system, and finally runs usability tests with real users. At Tasarım Devi, we apply this cycle end to end on every project.

Good interfaces start with good structure.

Navigation hierarchy, content priority and user flows are defined on paper first. Low-fidelity wireframes and flow diagrams let you test decisions before investing in them.

About UI/UX Design

What is the difference between UI design and UX design?

UX (user experience) design deals with the structural layer — research, information architecture, user flows and prototyping — and answers the question “how does the experience work?”. UI (user interface) design covers the visual identity, component styling and micro-interactions of that structure. They complement each other and can’t be separated.

What is a design system, and why do I need one?

A design system is a documented structure that brings together all interface components, color tokens, typography rules and interaction patterns in your product as a single source of truth. It keeps different screens and development cycles consistent and significantly speeds up both design and development.

Can you improve the UX of an existing app or website?

Yes. We run a usability audit of your current product and identify problem areas through heuristic evaluation and analytics data. We turn the results into a prioritized roadmap and deliver improved designs.

How do you run usability tests?

We use both moderated and unmoderated testing. We run task-based tests with real users on an interactive prototype or the live product, and present findings with video clips and a report.

Which tools are design files delivered in?

All of our UI/UX work is prepared in Figma. For developer handoff, we use Figma’s inspect mode and export packages. On request, we can also deliver in Sketch or Adobe XD format.
