About the project
AR Plastik trades plastic and metal goods at wholesale and retail, in products such as tables, chairs, stools, armchairs, bar sets, rattan and garden furniture, as well as ladders and ironing boards.
Starting point
The product range is both broad and spread across very different categories: garden furniture and ironing boards don’t go to the same buyer. The company also works both wholesale and retail, and the two channels expect different things. The wholesaler wants quantities and a price list, while the retail buyer is looking at a single product.
Our approach
- We clarified the categories. Distinctions such as seating groups, garden and rattan furniture and housewares turned a pile of products into something browsable.
- We separated wholesale from retail. The different expectations of the two channels were handled without being dissolved into a single flow.
- We brought the visual catalog forward. In this product group the decision rests largely on imagery; product photography was placed at the center of the structure.
- We kept contact short. Since wholesale requests move by phone, contact details were left accessible inside the catalog flow.
The result
The result is a trading site that settles a broad, scattered product range into categories and serves both sales channels.
